Private label
Your brand on the pack, without becoming an importer
Selling vanilla under your own name does not require you to import anything. It requires a supplier who packs in the format you sell, and a label that complies. The rest is a question of volume.
What decides in your trade
Format decides the price per kilo
Packing into 100 g jars costs more per kilo than a 25 kg carton, because there is more handling, more packaging and more checking. That gap is normal and belongs in your margin calculation from the start, not after the first quotation.
The label is your responsibility
Once your brand is on the product, you answer for what the label says: legal name, origin, best-before date, lot number, operator details. We supply the information behind those mentions. Having the wording checked is on you, and it is worth doing once properly.
Consistency beats performance
A range under your own brand assumes the product does not change between batches, because your customers would not understand why it did. What can be committed to is a range, not a record.
Shelf life starts at packing, not at harvest
Vacuum packed and kept cool, beans hold their aroma for around two years. The best-before date on your label runs from the packing date, so ordering ahead of a launch shortens what your customer gets.
What we supply for this use
Volumes
Private label makes sense from the point where one format justifies a production run. Send us your forecast volumes and we will tell you honestly from what quantity it becomes worthwhile for you, including when the answer is that it is not yet.
Questions we get asked
What packing formats are possible?
From small vacuum bags to multi-kilo cartons. The smaller the format, the higher the cost per kilo, because handling is what drives it rather than the vanilla itself.
Who is responsible for the labelling?
You are, as soon as your brand appears on the product. We provide the underlying information, origin, lot, best-before date and analyses, but the compliance of the label sits with the operator who sells it.
What is the minimum for a custom run?
It depends on the format and the label. Give us your forecast and we will tell you from what volume the operation pays for itself, including if the honest answer is that it does not yet.
